CLIMATE ADVOCACY

Since the conception of Green World Advocates, we have so far grown about 30,000 seedlings which comprises of exotic and fruits in schools and communities within Kisumu County and Mwingi Central in Kitui County being that Kitui County is grouped under Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL). The reason why we focus on schools is because of the guaranteed security of the seedlings since we are not only planting but also growing them. This has been made possible through our partnership with Lifewater Nigeria, Lifewater Rescue Kenya and TINADA.

FOOD SECURITY

By implementing the program, we have set up eight conical gardens in eight homes within Ogenya, Nyando Sub County. We chose this area because of their affected livelihoods during and after floods as we help them recover from the menace. On the same note, we also target homes of abled differently people because of their limited movements in search of food and income. We are hoping to reach 50 homes any time soon.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

We realized that a lot of waste of different types is generated per day mostly in informal settlements like Obunga, Manyatta and Nyalenda “A” and “B”. In this regard, we have partnered with Amazing Grace Youth Group to capacity build community members on proper waste management and waste segregation at the source. We also do quarterly market clean-ups in Oboch and Western Auji drainage and lastly recycle plastics by using them in smart farms.
